So, were to host my brand new site. The logical choice for me is installing a Ubuntu server VM at home. Pro's: its Ubuntu :) . Cons: expensive hardware, high power consumption. Alternative is a Ubuntu server VPS at a local hosting company.
An Ubuntu 14.04 LTS image is available for the Raspberry Pi 2, also a good option. Pro's: Low power, its Ubuntu :), Takes up almost no space, cheap hardware. Cons: ? .
So running a Windows Server VM is not realy an option for me. Pro's: Nice server GUI? . Cons: expensive hardware, high power consumption, its not Ubuntu :) , A Windows Server license is expensive.
So running a HTML / CSS / JS site is possible from a Google drive shared folder. Pro's: Its free, Its Easy to use, its stable. Cons: Its slow from time to time, No PHP.
So I moved my websites to Google drive, not sure if I will keep it here due to website performance. Checkout a video tutorial on running a HTML / CSS / JS site on Google drive here.
